2011 Ohio State Buckeyes

Some tidbits compiled from media day interviews, inside info, etc.....

- Braxton or Bauserman will start. You'll get a different answer based on which players you ask.

- Jordan Hall will be playing a Percy Harvin-like role. You'll still see him lining up out of the I though.

- Philly Brown and Verlon Reed will be the top 2 receivers with Posey out, and TY Williams will see redzone time.

- Starting OL for the first 5 games: Norwell - Hall - Brewster - Mewhort - Shugarts

- John Simon and Travis Howard are primed for big years.

- The freshman are looking outstanding. They are being called the best freshman class to come in since 2002.

- Leading off that last point... there's no locker room issues. Chemistry is outstanding, they've closed ranks in light of the NCAA cloud and are going forward with an 'Us-against-the-world" mentality. If you recall, the 08 class was hated by the upperclassmen (Especially TP which led to a split in the team that killed chemistry), but theres none of that this year. The upperclassmen love the freshman and Braxton.

Not OSU specific but I didn't want to start a new thread, what do you guys think about the Big Ten going to 9 conference games in 2017?

I'm not a fan of it. You will have some teams with 5 conference home games, others with 4. I like 8 conference games, plus 4 OOC. I think going to 9 games will decrease the marquee OOC matchups that OSU and other Big Ten teams have scheduled.

I would like to see it, because the conference would probably drop the FCS team on their schedule. I think every team this year except for Ohio State plays an FCS team. With 9 conference games it eliminates the chance for embarrassing the conference. Seems like every year 1 team gets close to losing to an FCS team.

OSUfan is gonna love this... the intensity has been seriously ramped up this year compared to years past. Fickell is intent on putting his stamp on this program regardless of whether he's interim or not, and the team loves it.

Also, I find it awesome that Mike Vrabel runs gassers with the players.

I love the passion.

Tressel was great and all, but the lifelessness was annoying. If we see something radically different, I'm happy!

Let's hope it translates to the play calling and aggressiveness.
