Re: 2016 Michigan Wolverines | BAUGH SO HAR

A few takeaways from today's win...

The team won again. Bottom line.

This defense is incredible. I got tired of hearing about Wisky's defense all week when our defense is on another level completely. With Stribling and Lewis, we have the best pair of corners in the nation. Ryan Glasgow might be the most underrated player in the nation. We have the deepest DL unit in the nation. Nobody can throw against us. And after fixing what happened vs UCF, teams haven't been effective running either. This defense is even better than the 2006 unit with Branch, Woodley, Hall etc..Starting to create turnovers, too, which makes them that much more impossible to deal with.

Losing Grant Newsome was probably the single worst thing about this game. Hopefully Bushell-Beatty can hold up over there or Mags/Cole might have to shift to LT. The way Newsome's leg buckled didn't look good.

The kicking game is bad and I wouldn't fault Harbaugh for burning the redshirt on Nordin if he's seen enough of Allen/Tice. I like Allen punting, but he probably can't be trusted with FGs anymore.

I like how Speight continues to bounce back from his mistakes. He threw that ball into triple coverage and Wisky got a tip-INT. Then he came right back and went over the top to Darboh for the game winner. Starting to see very faint Roethlisberger-esque qualities in Wilton on the deep ball to Darboh and when dragging T.J. Watt around while avoiding a sack.

Maybe the single best thing about this win was the blow to MSU fans' psyche. We controlled a team that utterly dominated the Spartans on their home field. Can't wait to hear them whine and complain about how they're getting no respect once again. I think we're going to blow them out this year. I don't think we get seriously tested again until Iowa (and the Hawkeyes might be bad actually).

I can't watch Speight play without thinking of Big Ben.

Colorado being ranked AP #21 now gives us 2 resume-building wins. Wisconsin hanging in at #11.

The schedule is S-O-F-T until we get to November. An intriguing slate of games in November...vs D.J. Durkin's Terps, @Iowa where we usually struggle, home against the Sparty-beating Hoosiers, and...well...we know what comes after that.

Everything is a wildcard until we see how Speight handles the road (not sure next weekend will be an adequate "test"), but @ Iowa should not be a challenge. They are a bad team.

Honestly, if this defense stays healthy, they should crush every opponent until Ohio State - especially MSU, who doesn't have an elite throw-god to drop dimes on us like last year.

The proper way to say the rest of their October schedule...

Speight doesn't remind me of Ben at all, where is this comparison coming from? They're both big and hold onto the ball too long?

Shedding defenders, keeping plays alive and finding guys after. He holds on to the ball too long but their are times it has definitely paid off.
