    Week 1 Discussion

Editor's Note: This is the Week 1 discussion thread for the 2024 season. If you'd like to discuss the 2003 season, I'm sure there's a 20-year-old thread around somewhere.

Decent opening week with several good games over the weekend.

    Thursday:
    North Carolina vs. Minnesota
    Colorado vs. North Dakota State

    Friday:
    TCU-Stanford

    Saturday:
    (1) Georgia vs. (14) Clemson
    (7) Notre Dame vs. (20) Texas A&M
    (19) Miami vs. Florida

    Sunday:
    (13) LSU vs. (23) USC

    Monday:
    Florida State vs. Boston College

I really hope my wife's alma mater takes care of CU to make life around the house pleasant going in to the weekend. Hopefully USC is competitive with LSU but I'm not confident.

I'm just going to say it once since I hadn't joined OS in 1899, when the topic relevant, but neither Harvard or Princeton was the real champion. We all know it was really Sewanee. They may have even beaten LSU. It was so long ago I can't remember. Just for the hell of it I'm going to say they did.

Best part was still dude using burner accounts to make his argument. Harvard was the true champion, but I digress.

Got a feeling NDSU at least keeps it interesting, which is why I listed it. Was neutral on USC-LSU, but hoping USC finds a way now.

Historically NDSU has given FBS teams a hard time, which is why they stopped scheduling them. I have low hopes for USC this season, but yes a win over LSU would be hilarity.

Looking forward to seeing how Oklahoma looks. Gonna be without two of our returning WRs (Nic Anderson is just out for Friday so far, Jayden Gibson is going to miss the entire year).

Time to see if Jackson Arnold will eventually live up to the hype.

Also very curious about my other favorite team LSU. The team is somehow very similar and also very different from last year. USC is a great test.

Someone recently put me on a really cool tool/website for tracking the CFB schedule. You can create an account and "star" or mark games and then filter by those games you want to see. I have also been told it updates with scores. Just passing along in case it helps anyone out. Scouring the main websites like ESPN, Fox, etc. is annoying to navigate compared to this.

I'm actually excited for all three games tonight. I think ND State and Colorado will make it interesting, and I'm rolling with Coastal Carolina.

I think he was getting nervous about Sunday night and he was trying to convince himself Louisiana is going to beat Southern Cal...

...Post Continued from Week 0 thread...

I didn't originally have a dog in this hunt but I'm rooting for Southern Cal since the consensus seems to be Louisiana will win. Plus I can't stand Chip's little brother Brian. : |

I'm glad this game has the whole day to itself. Coupled with the fact its being played in Vegas, I really think this has a chance to be one of those special games we all hope to witness. Like, whoever has the ball last, its going to take the other defense to stop that team from winning. Not to mention its been forty years since they last played each other. I expect it to be even better than the Florida State-Tech game last week in Ireland. I'm going to say ... Southern Cal 31 - Louisiana 28.

Whats the over/under on how many times the broadcast highlights the last two Heisman winners were produced by these two schools? I'm thinking 3.5 and I'm going Over, with the broadcast mentions it four times.

Travis Hunter with the speed. Bad angle by the safety

No Michigan or OSU on the schedule... we have a chance to finish with 7 wins! Let's go RU!

That Hunter TD was too easy. Safety took an atrocious angle.

EDIT: CU defense looking a lot like last year.

Colorado is the only team in the world that the media could slobber over when down to North Dakota st lol.

My God even when they lose it's just so beautiful and inspiring.
