Pretty much everything needs to go right including things out of your control. During FSU's run of 3 straight BCS title games they needed help from Miami and Texas A&M on the final day of the season and they needed to run up the score on Florida in 2000 to secure a bid. I remember I think it was in 2004, looking at the FSU season the difference between them going undefeated and going 9-3 was just a couple of plays here and there. All it really takes is the ball taking one strange bounce between going or not going to a title game. That is really why CFB needs a playoff, I often question if the National Champion is the best team or if they were just the luckiest team.

Looking back over the years, almost every team had some miracle save their season. In 1998 it was a miracle bounce on a miracle fumble for Tennessee against Arkansas. In 2000 it may very well have been the computer spitting out a bad result for Oklahoma coupled with a suspension of a superstar by FSU. In 2001 Miami was lucky to beat BC and I believe VaTech. In 2002 Ohio State had several breaks along the way and Miami needed Xavier Beitia missing a field goal. 2003 was a mess as was 2004. Then last year Florida needed pollsters screwing Michigan to get in along with UCLA pulling a miracle out of their *** when they shutdown USC's offense.

Anyone wonder how different CFB history would look if there was a playoff year in and year out to determine the champion?

Insane LSU fans are like any other fanbase Cowboys, Philly, insert whatever city fanbase that acts irrationally at times. There are some bad ones but we are alot of level headed guys
