That writer has always been a Longhorn basher

but good job finding support from outside the state of Oklahoma for OU's side of this situation BigD...it certainly seems to be in the minority.

Whenever you have to post something about it the Wednesday afterward, when everyone has calmed down pretty much proves that you may not feel OU deserves to be there. Therefore, you seem to be trying to find all the assurance as possible, and then posting it here to piss off some Longhorn fans.

No. Longhorn fans bring it up in every thread.

Re: Texas Columnist: BCS got it right

Instead, Brown began to show up on TV more than that Geico lizard. The poor-taste clincher came Saturday night when he agreed to be interviewed in the middle of the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State telecast.

Why didn’t Oklahoma do that, Stoops was asked Sunday?
"I was asked to be on the Texas game Thursday," the OU coach said, "and I said no. I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t think it was right."

Stay classy, Austin, Stoops was saying, without mentioning any names.
But as Stoops and the Sooners saw, Brown’s politicking for his team worked. The Longhorns gained ground in both of the human polls.

Go figure. Texas, playing at home, defeated a vastly disappointing Texas A&M team 49-9 in a game that Colt McCoy was still quarterbacking in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, playing on the road, knocked off the No. 11 team in the nation — and yet lost ground in the human polls to the Texas poor-us campaign.

"It was the campaigning. I don’t think there’s any question," said Jerry Palm, whose CollegeBCS.com Web site is the bible for all things BCS.

For all the whining, in other words, about computers and formulas and BCS rules, the human element continues to be the bug in the equation. The same thing happened in 2004 when writers and coaches, after Brown again had politicked all week, leapfrogged Texas over Cal in the final poll and sent the Longhorns to the Rose Bowl
If Texas wants to blame anyone today, it needs to blame the guy that scheduled Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Arkansas and Rice. Similar cream-puff scheduling cost undefeated Auburn a title game shot in 2004.

This time, fortunately, the six BCS formula computers cut through the rhetoric.
They judged the football, not the filibuster. And Oklahoma came out the winner in more ways than one.
              Interesting.

Pretty bad when you have to run political campaigns to "sway" voters you dont know who probably dont watch you team outside of sportcenter on why one team deserves a spot more than another rather than let wins talk and bs walk. Last year was real bad IMO. The way OSU made it in. Oh well, had to go to lids and get a mizzou hat today since I am their biggest fan thi weekend. Take that back, apparently colt mccoy is their #1 fan callin up ol daniels.

I never said anything about Stoops.

You can't deny that Brown campaigned more than anyone.

Ol mack had to...OU for sure was gonna jump ahead of UT just b/c of the strength in the teams the two were playing. That and the voters are all drooling over OU's offensive numbers. The past two weeks, you could practically fill the SC top ten plays with OU's offense which sucks b/c their deffense is pretty lame this year with all the injuries. 60 points are good and all, but no one pays attention to the 41 next to it. Stoops really didnt have to say anything because UT had the most to loose after playing a much weaker a&m team at the end.

Offense is sexy these days. As for our defense, our first string only gave up 14 points to Texas Tech. The Longhorns held the Red Raiders to what???? Was it 39?

Everyone wants to see Florida beat OU 63-56 in the national championship game anyway.

Well preferably that would be the mizzou final score against OU with danials as the MVP.

The game is in Kansas City. It's practically a home game for Mizzou.

Remember the 9-3 K-State team that beat OU a few years ago? Anything is possible. Mizzou is a solid top 20 team. I'm not taking them lightly.
