I actually just read through the thread again...it's hilarious. I think AA owes BK his mortgage (see bottom of Page 6), Cebby (known then as TheSoldier) predicts doom and gloom for the Gators, and BK is really the only one who ended up looking smart in the end.

That was classic! The part where he said about two coaches were the best part! Reading that was priceless. BK for the win!

It's not my fault 10 SEC suck at defending the playground offense.

I shared my tips with Tubs and success was total.

Re: Sugar Bowl-Florida vs Cincinnati

Actually looking back, my post wasn't all that off.

Quote:
That means if Leak goes down, a true frosh goes in. Considering their stretch of teams, if Leak goes down against Tennessee or Bama, Florida will have a losing season. On defense they'll be solid enough, but if Bama's defense last year couldn't support a crappy offense, Florida's won't either.
Obviously I underestimated Tebow, but I was pretty on point.

The 8 game stretch I mentioned featured 6 games where the outcome was in doubt on the last drive. Brandon James' special teams and Florida's defense basically won them Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, UGA, Vandy, and South Carolina.

The 2006 offense was solid, but not all that great. They were much worse than 2007 or 2008.

Quote:
The primary problem with the offense is it needs players who are not only big playmakers but big.
Not true with Harvey, but Hernandez, Murphy, and Baker had some size to them.

Quote:
About the only QBs I have seen that would be successful in the SEC or ACC in this offense are VY and Matt Jones.
Again, underestimating the power of Tebow. Leak was pretty average in 2006, but Tebow's running made a huge difference.

Quote:
Barring Meyer putting together an all star team of college players, I don't see this working at all.
He did in fact put together an all star team.

Not my Florida State predictions, but most of my predictions were merely underestimating Tebow as well as revisionist history on the 2006 offense.

Re: Sugar Bowl-Florida vs Cincinnati

Did anyone except that one Big East homer think Cincy had a chance?

I actually enjoyed watching this massacre. Thanks Florida.
