They weren't from LA, but most of their recruits are from Cali. Maybe they steal a few recruits and maybe they don't, but the playing field in the Pac-10 is a lot more level.

Not only academically, but there's literally 0% chance that Tebow would go to a Catholic school.

At some point, DRK would have disputed what Bear would have built

How would the landscape of CFB be different today if in 1991 the SEC added Florida State and Miami instead of South Carolina and Arkansas?

Then the SEC would be it's own sport. Now, FSU and Miami would eventually end up where they are today.

What would have happened if Steve Spurrier never left for the NFL? Would he have been there in 2005?
I honestly don't know.
If he isn't there in 05, UF would probably be about LSU today-good, but definitely far from great
If he is there in 05, no way he recruits Tebow, and into the cellar goes UF.

Here's a homer question me and a freind had the other day

How would LSU be if...
Jimbo would have stayed?
Muschamp would have stayed?
Pelini would have stayed?
Major Applewhite chosen LSU?

and...the big one

Bo Reign not died?

Re: How would the history of CFB have changed if..........?

..if Tim Tebow had chosen Alabama over Florida.

..if Alabama had hired Bobby Bowden in the 80's when he wanted the job.

..if Mike Price had never gone to a strip club in Florida the summer before his first season at Alabama.

..if Texas had missed the game winning FG against Nebraska in the '09 Big XII title game.

..if Clint Stoerner didn't fumble against Tennessee in '98.

..if Butch Davis was still at Miami.

Here's my favorite.

If Auburn had been given the chance to play USC in 2004.

Either way, I don't think it would have been a 55-19 beat down..

Jimbo-You don't win the 2007 championship
Muschamp-He left with Saban so I'm not sure what you mean
Pelini-LSU goes 9-4 instead of 8-5 in 2008
Major-Nothing changes

Tebow would have been horribly misused by Shula, and you miss on Saban because the hope of Tebow gives Shula another year or two
Bowden wins Alabama 2 more championships in the 90s
Price leads Alabama to consistent 8-4 seasons
Alabama beats TCU by 24

The reality with the Mark Richt, Pelini, and Davis questions is that if they didn't leave after 2000 or 2007, they leave after 2001 or 2008.

If a coordinator can become the head coach at UGA or Nebraska, they're going to be a head coach.

Price would have lasted no more than 4 seasons, and even that is pushing it. Pullman, WA is just slightly different than Tuscaloosa, AL. We are ecstatic with 7-4 seasons. You do that at Bama, and you're a bottom dweller in the SEC and soon store manager at the Wal-Mart.
