Not sure where any confusion could come from. I was talking about the whole state, not one single city.

Lakeland is more than enough to get high quality talent out of Florida. But no, he won't recruit everyone from Florida.

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

Meyer's general recruiting strategy will be very similar to Tressel's...

- Lock down Ohio
- Pull the best players in the Midwest
- Land a couple of out of state studs

The way they go about it will be different, of course.

The University of Florida or the whole state of Florida?

Meyer isn't going to do either. He will win some wars in the state, but there is no way he is stealing kids from Florida and FSU like Buckeye fans think he may. Maybe at Miami (just picked up a 4* WR). Heck, he should snoop around the State of Georgia. Everyone else does plenty of crootin' in that state.

If he wants to win BCS titles, he will have to do so though.

When he was AT FLORIDA.

He did just pick up Southward though from an initial commit to Miami.

I know he was done a lot around that area and had no shortage of talent from Lakeland while at Florida.

I have a feeling he'll try to flip Goodman too. Erikson was fired, which helps, and OSU desperately needs a tackle.

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

Just FWIW, I'm not expecting much to change (Although then again Meyer is an outstanding recruiter so I wouldn't rule out the possibilities)... but Dunn and Meyer did had a very good conversation last night, and Meyer will be visiting him soon.

Very fortunate that Meyer was hired on the day the contact period started.

Look for Nick Davidson and Jordan Diamond to be the targets at tackle. Davidson was likely coming here anyways, Diamond we've been in on for a while, and we're competing with several other schools, but the Meyer hire is HUGE for his recruitment.
