Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

The only thing I'll say is this:

With Washington and probably Spence as well, Pittman would be a back up probably. Unless Spence does in fact move to LB.

It's interesting to say the least. With the way the pass rush performed this year...we can use all the help we can get.

MSU is 3rd in the country with 37 sacks and also 3rd in total D only giving up 260 ypg. Seems like a good place for a DE to go.....

Gholston and Rush will be back and they are young, but MSU rotates players in and out alot. Even Worthy, A pretty sure fire first round pick at DT rotated in and out quite a bit. MSU has been trying to redhsirt everybody. But I am sure if he is ready he would see the field.

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

Garnett actually set up an official to Auburn in January. Hopefully our staff can snag him. Need more stud O linemen in this class. Callahan and Latu are nice, but I'd like to have 2 or 3 more in this class.

Yeah that's why I said that even though Michigan is high on his list now, so much can change, especially when you throw other official visits in the mix.

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

- All current commits will be honored. Would be recruiting suicide not to.

- 24/7 5* DE (And #15 player in the country) Noah Spence will be visiting on the weekend of December 17th. Lots of positive vibes from this one.

- 4* OL Jordan Diamond (#60 overall) will be visiting tOSU, possibly as soon as next weekend. Meyer's hiring is the key with him... he was originally thought to be a Michigan lock, but then Arkansas/Auburn took over the lead for him, but things are pretty wide open. Chance for us to make a big splash with him, he's the #1 OT on our board.

- 4* WR Joel Caleb (#58 overall) came in on an official this weekend. He was blown away, and said he had the time of his life.

- Look for some movement with 3* DE Jamal Marcus. His film is incredible (Very Shazier like) and he could very well be a LB at the next level... Coach Meyer loves the kid's ability.

- Others likely coming in on visits: 4* WR Cyrus Jones (#90 overall), 4* DE Dante Fowler (#47 overall, current FSU commit), 5* DE Darius Hamilton (#19 overall), 4* OL Evan Goodman

- There are also multiple guys who expressed interest after talking to Meyer... these guys aren't likely at all to end up Buckeyes, but one of note is 5* DT Eddie Goldman (#5 overall)

- Before Monday, Brionte Dunn was a full-fledged Michigan commit still wearing an Ohio State label. Meyer changed that. He called him at 7:00 that night (His press conference ended at 6) and apparently made a huge impression, stemming the tide and putting things back to 50/50 (Some speculate we actually lead now..)

I really wonder what Meyer said to Dunn and how truthful he was about how he would actually be used in Meyer's offense.
