I would have to say it was the 2001 Miami Hurricanes

They went undefeated and won the National Championship and they had so many star players.

A lot of people are going to say 95 Nebraska due to the more impressive margin of victory in games...but I agree with you OP. Miami in 2001 was amazing. They screwed around with BC and Virginia Tech a bit too much, that's all. They could have beat them both by 21+ if they wanted too.

I'd say 2001 UM and 95 NE are neck and neck almost but slight edge for me to Miami.

While 95 Nebraska destroyed every team they played, I feel like that Miami team had more talent.

Not really. 2004 USC was far, far more talented defensively than the 2005 team. Based on pure talent 2008 was probably the most talented USC team of the Carroll era.

Best team I have ever seen bar none was the 2001 Hurricanes. To me it's not even close.


After that in no particular order (only teams I have seen play)

1999 Florida St.
1995 Nebraska
2004 USC
1991 Washington

Best team to not go undefeated. 1993 Florida St.

A valid argument. On that note but still slightly off topic watched the Alamo Bowl game a year or 2 before that against Kansas State and just wow, amazing game

I would say the '11 Bama team over the '09 Bama team by the slightest of margins. After that, probably the '92 Bama team.

While I never saw them actually play, I've heard the '79 Bama was pretty good, too. So make them #4.
