I like it. Even though I believe Georgia would give Alabama toughest game, I didn't think a one loss OU get left out over 2 teams with a 20+ point loss in there record. Plus I was not interested in potential rematches of Alabama vs. Georgia, then Alabama Clemson. Also I want to see Kyler in the playoffs especially if it is his last games playing football.

I don't disagree with the selections. I also can't help feeling like Georgia should be in.

4 team playoff will always be unsatisfactory as long as you have 5 major conferences + Notre Dame + undefeated mid-majors. 6 or 8 teams will do.

I like ND's chances against Clemson a lot better than if they had to face Bama to start.

I like that the committee chose to lean on the championship game a bit over the overall strength of schedule. If Georgia had lost last night in a more conventional tight ballgame rather than outright letting it slip right out of their fingers I think the committee would've had a lot more to think about in terms of possibly letting them in the CFP but the nature of that loss hurt them big time.

College football will always be a beauty pageant. The only way to get rid of all subjectivity would be to give a playoff spot to all conference champions and go from there, and then you have a 10 team playoff. Have fun with that.

A P5 conference champion + 1 or +3 at-large bids means there is still an eye test going on for those other teams, so that doesn't really solve anything other than changing the argument (which is the #4 team) to "which is the #6 or #7 & 8 teams?".

I don't want to see us go above the 4 team playoff that we already have (6 teams wouldn't be terrible, but you're giving out a lot of mulligans to teams in season performance if you do that or more). Yes, a wild card team in the NFL or MLB can win the championship (and we have no issue with that), but their is a lot more parity in most professional sports than there is in college football. The more you increase the number of teams in CFB the closer you get to something like the NBA where the first round is just a joke for the top couple of teams. The 4 team playoff at least lets it so that every P5 team always controls their own destiny at the start f every season. Win and you're in. If you trip up then it's your own fault for putting yourself in the hands of voters.

Notre Dame is the equivalent of the (insert conference here) champ.

If ND had to play Bama, Clemson, OU, tOSU, or Wash in a ccg, would they have made the playoff?

I understand it is moot.
