I think it's gonna deserve it's own thread, this is gonna be a big story. And it will probably be a bunch of bull, but because of who it's happening too, this is gonna be big regardless.

Well, the DNA story is interesting, but for all we know, it was consensual and then the girl cried "Wolf!" despite a wolf being around. Still way too early to jump to any conclusions though.

Yeah, it's so difficult to prove these things are crimes because in most cases, it ends up just being he said-she said. But he's gonna get killed in the public eye no matter what happens.

Well he is in trouble now. FSU has a rule where any felony charge is immediate dismissal from the team, there are a only a few ways the Athletic Director can overrule it, but it has never happened.

Winston has 2 witness statements, so the only way he doesn't get charged is for these to statements to outright prove that it was not rape and she consented. The only way I see this not going to trial is that Winston has video or a signed statement from her consenting.

I don't see how the prosecutor won't bring it to trial and just say I'll let the jury decide who they believe.

While the way this news came about tonight is worry some, I'm stepping back and waiting to see what happens. Too many odd things and coincidences going on to believe that a crime took place or that it's even a he said she said. If it did, then he deserves what he gets.

Just going to say that no warrant was issued for a DNA sample, unless it was the only thing about this story to not leak out. No defense attorney is going to have their client volunteer a sample if they were worried about that avenue.

I believe there is still more to this story that the SAO's and Jansen(Winston's atty)already know, that the general public doesn't yet and I'll leave it at that.

One question though.. who the **** watches people having sex at a party? Are these witnesses really supposed to clear Winston of all wrongdoing in the court of public opinion? To me, it makes the entire thing look sketchier.. guys looking more guilty by the second.

Journalism at its absolutely dumbest, if you ask me. Sad thing is, most people will browse right over it and not even notice how utterly ridiculous it sounds.

You're kidding right? You're not seriously taking my post, or for that matter this Winston scandal, and countering it with the porn industry...

Don't know about you man, but I have been my fair share of parties, both in highschool, college, and elsewhere and never have I once personally wanted to, or known anyone who has, witnessed two people having sex to the degree of knowing whether or not it was consensual. Sure, you might see two people ditch out of the party or heck, for the sake of this argument maybe you even caught them together in a room, but don't tell me you're now somehow qualified to be a witness, in a court of law, to the consensuality of the act. Wannabe star witnesseses coming out of the woodwork for their 15 minutes and ESPN is all too happy to oblige it appears.

What's next though? Someone going to pull the old "she looked like she was enjoying it so it couldn't have been rape" card? Kids like Winston should learn to keep their noses clean if they want to play at this level or higher and not count their eggs before they hatch and ride their fame train prematurely.

At any rate, just because this story is getting dirtier and dirtier by the minute, I hope this guy doesn't see a field his sophomore year. I really don't. I'm saying that as a fan of football. I also love that our two most hyped up Heisman candidates this year are borderline criminals or at the very least suspects, one way or another. Soon the Heisman will lose all meaning, not saying that it holds as much importance now as it once did anyway.

Ah you replied before I could add more thoughts to my post.

Let me hit you with the definition of the Heisman:

"The outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with dillegence, perseverance, and hard work."

Regardless of what I think, I watched some vids published on ESPN.com last night to hear them STILL considering Manziel for a repeat or Winston for the Heisman, despite Manziel's summer of idiocy and Winston's recent situation. If you're telling me two exhibit integrity, then maybe I just need to get out of this thread before I say something I'll regret.

edit - and again, about your tastes comment. Why are you focusing on comparing this scandal to porn? Surely you don't believe these "witnesseses" watched Winston have sex with this girl as some sort of voyeur first-hand porn, do you? Really?
