Sounds like there will be no buyout...part of the deal is a home and home with CSU plus a third game at a neutral field. If this is the hire I'm happy....not a big name guy, but he meets everyone of he requirements I have asked for since 2010.

So the man who helped Saban ruin our Dynasty in 2009 has come back to help us rebuild. I like it. He was named one of the 25 best recruiters in the nation during his time at Alabama. I'm okay with this. I also think this means it's Will Grier time in Gainesville.

Jim Fassel's name has surfaced for UNLV. Bishop Gorman coach Tony Sanchez as well.

Did Grier redshirt this year or something?

Clearly, it would have been worth giving him a shot over the struggling Driskel and a guy who can't really throw a football (Harris), otherwise, I'd think.

Grier was injured in pre-season practice and then fell way behind on the depth chart…had back issues or something.

Did he get a medical redshirt or anything? If not, that sucks.

Last I read was that Florida was applying for his redshirt…he missed over a month of practice with his back injury.

On another note - sounds like the Jim McElwain hire is official (at least according to twitter). Regardless, all signs point to Mac being the next HBC for the Gators.

I am seeing a lot of fans upset with this hire and I understand being upset at hires (see December 2010, me, Muschamp), but in this case I think Foley has done well.

My biggest beef with Muschamp was that he was handed the keys to a big-time program without ever having proved himself at a smaller school. McElwain has done that in spades at CSU, improving a team that went 3-9 for 3 years before he got there to 10-2 this year. Secondly, Muschamp was a defensive coach who never has gotten offense. You MUST be able to score to win in CFB today…McElwain is an offensive guy who can coach up offensive players.

I am excited…this is a new chapter and there is a ton of talent on this Gator team. I'm predicting a 9-3 type of season that sets us up for a big year in 2016.
