I can't wait to see how all the "insiders" spin Harbaugh going to Michigan. No one outside of Ann Arbor thought there was any chance of it happening.

I refuse to get excited until they introduce him as the coach…the 'secret' catered event on Tuesday, the packages being delivered to Ann Arbor in his name, etc. are all so obvious and when these things happen usually it's not the obvious that happens. I fear he'll use Michigan as leverage…I may be wrong, but I'll remain pessimistic until he's introduced in Maize and Blue.

Remember when Utah capped off a breakthrough season with its first bowl victory in three years?
That was six days ago.
In the time since, three assistant coaches have left the program, and sources familiar with the situation tell The Salt Lake Tribune that the relationship between Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham and athletic director Chris Hill is severely fractured, perhaps irreparably.
Those sources, who requested anonymity so as not to compromise their ties to the program, say Whittingham and Hill were on poor terms before the start of the season and that the rift widened in recent weeks. The two met Friday, a source said.

Caught in the middle: Utah’s players and assistant coaches. On Tuesday, defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake and defensive line coach Ilaisa Tuiaki accepted jobs at Oregon State, working under former Utah Defensive Coordinator Gary Andersen, who went on to head the Utah State and Wisconsin football programs before recently opting for the Beavers post.
Then, on Christmas, news broke that Offensive Coordinator Dave Christensen agreed to become offensive line coach and run-game coordinator at Texas A&M.
Whittingham on his way out? I really hope our AD knows what he is doing.

Wow.

If this indeed happens, I don't think I agree. IMHO, Whittingham is one of the best coaches in the country. Not easy to retain success while moving to a bigger conference.

I just got off the phone with more sources tonight. It's done. Jim Harbaugh is coming to Michigan.

Like I said above, there will be no excitement until Jim Harbaugh stands there and says he's the coach.
