Utah is almost 8 years ago now. He threw it all over, but didn't run at all.

I'm not sure which game you're referring to about Jefferson, but that's also 4+ years ago. In 2010 LSU won 24-21, but Jefferson threw for 160ish and ran for 30ish... so he didn't do much.

Dak had a good game (almost 300 passing, 80 on the ground, but 3 INTs), but Bama won 25-20. Dak had 300 again in the air this year, but averaged about 0.5 YPC on the ground in a 31-6 drubbing.

Dude from Ole Miss can run a bit, but the story of that game was 2 lucky (for lack of a better term) plays that were long TDs for Ole Miss, 5 turnovers for Alabama (compared to 0 for Ole Miss) and a decision to start Cooper Bateman that backfired.... and Ole Miss still only won by 7 points.

This whole narrative really came from Cam Newton, then Johnny Manziel torching Bama 2 straight seasons. The last 2 years, it's been a pretty different story. The D was rebuilt to have more versatile players instead of specialty players.

Watson is the best QB that Bama will face this year. If he has a good game (which is certainly possible), it's not because Bama struggles with mobile QBs.. it's because he's a great player.


On another note, I just read today that Clemson will be limited this week by the 20 hour practice week rule since their Spring semester starts Wednesday, while Alabama will not as their Spring semester does not start until January 13. This happened last year, too, where Ohio State was not restricted while Oregon was. Not sayin', just sayin'

Saban for the win. I'm rooting for Clemson though. Saban is just a masterful coach so his team will get the W.
