Re: Week Six Discussion

Florida State is 79th in defensive S&P+.

Power Five teams worse than FSU:

Texas Tech
Iowa State
Oregon State
Oregon
Arizona
Arizona State
Washington State
Cal
Texas
Kansas
North Carolina
Virginia
Syracuse
Notre Dame
Kentucky
Purdue

Does Florida State have a bad defense? Oh yeah sure, especially when given the talent level. They're stuck in the third tier of defenses. Are they the worst in a power five conference? No.

Re: Week Six Discussion

A decision on the state of the LSU-Florida game will be made by 4 pm CST today. As of now both schools are preparing to host a home game.

Re: Week Six Discussion

Hurricane Matthew just took a severe shift west (towards Gainesville) and is expected to drop seven (7) inches of rain in the city. The school has been closed and the order for evacuations has been sent out.

And Florida still wants to keep the game at noon Saturday in Gainesville. Not Baton Rouge, not Birmingham, not literally anywhere else.

This is the stupidest, most irresponsible decision I have seen in quite some time. There is a CAT FOUR (4) hurricane bearing down on them and they're looking to play football less than 24 hours after the fact. You would think FLORIDA would have more sense than that but here we are.

I hope Florida receives as little damage as possible, and I hope Gainesville is able to actually enjoy the game, and I hope LSU wins, but I sincerely hope those in charge at UF get fired for this decision.

Re: Week Six Discussion

If it gets really bad, you think they'll move it to Sunday/Monday?

No. LSU and Florida both have games this week and they're not trying to play on a short week. Florida is trying to coerce LSU into forfeiting and it's gonna end up with either the game going off or Florida is going to have to forfeit themselves, which means Gainesville would take on too much damage.

I'm just hoping LSU has no issues flying into Florida.

It's funny how that works. The last 5 years one side of the rivalry had the worst coaching staff in school history and the worst DC in the country. Now on the other side one of the worst DCs is on the sideline.

Stats don't matter in this game though. It'll be hard-fought.

Why would they "move" the game? If it isn't played this weekend, they'll make it up...the option I heard this afternoon is both teams have non-conference games on November 19th. The SEC has offered to pay both schools to cancel those games to re-schedule this game for that date. It cracks me up that anyone thinks they should "move" the location...it isn't a big deal if they just don't play this weekend.
