...and down go the Sooners. Mayfield really played a poor 2nd half.

I’m guessing Oklahoma burns the crimson pants after this.

Re: Week 6 Discussion

What does Iowa State beating Oklahoma have in common with Pennywise the Clown?

They both only appear every 27 years.

GG, tornadoes.

He didn't play up to his standards but this really isn't on him. Here are his stats:

306 yards passing
57 yards rushing
3 TDs
No turnovers

You can't expect the offense to score 50 points every game. This is all on Mike Stoops and the defense. You can't give up 38 points to a mediocre Iowa State offense on your home field. That's just unacceptable.

Iowa State scored on five straight possessions and was driving the length of a field. This isn't a complex offense either. It's pretty vanilla.

OU fumbled going into the end zone at the two yard line and missed a FG. That's why you can't rely on putting up 40-50 points every week to win.

Give credit to Iowa State. They played well and seized opportunity.

No doubt...it's a team game/team loss. That said, he was on fire in the first half and the 2nd half he wasn't the same. The big thing I noticed was the sacks he took trying to make something happen, a few throws were behind the receiver, and the big fumble on the exchange at the goal line. Very un Mayfield like.

BTW - who gets credit for that fumble at the GL? I checked the box score and it says OU had no lost fumbles.
