I'll be real curious to see who our OC candidates might be after this. Someone suggested Mark Whipple LOL.

Wasn't there a situation recently, where a coach got hired by one school, then a better job offered him and he left for School B just a few days after being introduced at School A?
Sure you're not thinking of that guy who left the Jets for the Patriots that one time? What was his name...

In all seriousness, it's not quite what you described but Pitt c. 2010-11 maybe? Mike Haywood hired, fired a few days later, Todd Graham hired and left after a year. Mike Price c. 2002-03 could also fit the bill, but these were both conduct related.

May be mis-remembering too, but I feel as if your situation might have happened once, just can't remember.

We also had the Greg Schiano situation last year.

Mark Whipple... I remember the days of him at Miami. You either ran a toss play, a draw play, or a PA verticals play. I don't think he had anymore plays.

Easy there, buddy. Watch how you speak about the GOAT offense.

That offense (and variations of it) have been around in some form for 50+ years in college football so while it might LOOK gimmicky to some today it's actually more traditional than the current trend.

Just sayin'

I will agree that that offense's day has run its course long ago but that doesn't mean you should completely rain hatred on the man because he's had success with it.

I understand it has its roots, but the way its run these days is more gimmicky and the way its blocked anymore is dreadful and more dangerous than half of the tackles they're are trying to remove from the game. I'm fine with option offenses if they aren't getting away with chop blocks left and right.

Watch them go after Navy's coach who's name I'm not going to try and spell.

It definitely goes back to at least the 40s, maybe 30s.

I actually wish more teams would run that offense.
