That doesn't count! If you actually had a full 130 team ranking that would be amazing lol

I haven't watched UCF this year, but college football teams across the board have been down the last few years. Aside from Bama, the separation between the great teams and good teams isn't that big anymore.

Auburn was a lot better last year than they are this year for whatever reason. Docking UCF beauty pageant points because of auburn sucking this year is one of the more illogical things I've read. Give auburn Kerryon Johnson back and I bet they're still in the top 10 this year.

It seems like people have been saying that on here every year since I joined this forum (11 years ago). It can’t always be true, though!

I don't think it is true, really. I think a lot of the great programs aren't as dominant as they used to be for the opposite reason. A lot of the smaller programs have gotten better coaching and talent than before. Places like Duke, for example, haven't exactly become really good teams, but they clearly aren't the pushovers they were. A lot of smaller schools across the P5 have risen in quality and the bigger programs outside of Bama haven't been able to stay as dominant.

Every school is on TV anymore, that isn't a huge advantage driving the best players to only 8 different schools. It isn't a race between Oklahoma, Miami, FSU, Alabama, Nebraska, and Notre Dame anymore like it used to be. Now places like Maryland are on TV just as much and snagging 4 stars and high 3 star players at a rate that allows for them to be more competitive.

I don't think the parity around the country is due to teams being worse than ever, it's the opposite.

You're probably right about that. Good points
