Week 9 Discussion

Maryland starts on a 21-7 lead, Gophers go on a 31-0 run in the middle quarter, Taulia leads the comeback in the 4th to come back from 17 down to go to overtime...because Maryland doesn't call a timeout to try a hail mary from right about midfield, don't understand that

Re: Week 9 Discussion

Well now I see why Michigan’s offense did so well last week. Minnesota’s defense is apparently absolutely pathetic.

Minnesota definitely should have gone for 2 there. Their defense wasn’t stopping a light breeze all night. Their kicker is not FBS level. Why not go for the win right there?

Re: Week 9 Discussion

Minnesota's kicker is still recovering from hernia surgery.
That should point to the depth the Gophers have at that position. In practice, a healthy backup kicker can't perform better than the injured, seriously-hampered starter.

Re: Week 9 Discussion

Word is that Stetson Bennett is still the starter at Georgia. If he starts and plays the entire game against Kentucky then this season is over. Kentucky can certainly make a game of it, but they are still a great opportunity to work someone new in. If Kirby doesn't make a QB change after a bye week and facing an opponent that his team is a 17 point favorite against, then he's not interested in winning a championship this year or the next.
