And it was the exact same thing they did for Kansas in the first half of the game. Forward progress was stopped, and just before the whistle a sudden surge moved the pile forward for a first down.

But it's only shady when Oklahoma does it because it was unconventional and the "refs helped them win".

Forward progress is turning into the new targeting in some ways.

There are so many games where they don't blow the whistle but they let forward progress help determine the ruling on the field when reviewing. Auburn-Arkansas, Ole Miss-UT, etc..

It's been a real problem this year and I think referees need to start clarifying what the rule on the field is AND what they are reviewing. It's the best way to prevent confusion.

Even though the final score shows another beatdown at the hands of Alabama, it was a competitive game early in the fourth quarter.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the Heupel hire, but he's done an impressive job this season under the circumstances. If he can recruit, we could be on our way back to relevancy.
