I would be shocked if they did a re-match. I would expect Alabama to jump to 1, Michigan 2 if they win, Georgia 3 and Cincy 4. Then bump up Georgia, Cincy, ND to 2-4 if Michigan lost. They'll probably deny they avoided it but I think they'd make sure they did.

Honestly he didn't play that bad, but he also didn't elevate the offense to a point where they needed it.

Georgia's defense got picked apart for the first time this season, instead of giving the offense a bunch of short fields and the security of never playing down like they did through the first 12 games for all but about 10 total minutes. In a game where the offense had to get involved in a shootout...well 2 interceptions (could easily be 2 more) isn't really unexpected.

That's what I mean though. There's a ton of evidence that Bennett isn't a guy to get them where they want. With such a good defense, that would give me even more reason to play the guy with the higher upside.

Oh I 100% agree with you (meant to quote someone else in my original post), and I've been rather incredulous about Kirby's decision all year. There has been this long standing narrative that Bennett gives us a better chance to win because he's mobile. Which yes, he is pretty quick when he wants to run, but he ain't exactly Michael Vick out there or even Matt Coral. The 30ish yards a game he gets on the ground doesn't really make up for the turnovers, bad decisions, and just general lack of a threat in the passing game.

I'm a Georgia fan, and I'll be angry if Georgia gets left out of the playoffs when we've seen Alabama and OSU get admitted without even making their conference championship games. But I also would support it. For one I have supported that you can't be a national champion if you aren't even your own conference champion as far back as the BCS era, and two, maybe it would finally make Kirby realize that he can't just play ground and bound and great defense in this day and age. A epiphany that Nick Saban made several years ago, and one that Georgia fans hoped that Kirby had made when he hired Todd Monken to be the OC 2 years ago.
