Conference Championship Week

Starting this one early.

Pretty unique situation this year. We could end up in a situation where we don't see Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, or Oklahoma in the playoff (if UGA beats Bama).

If Bama does win though then we probably see 2 SEC teams (unfortunately I think this game has no impact on Georgia's invitation to the playoff).

Cincy has a great shot to finally get a G5 school into the party.

Michigan has a chance to continue their celebration of beating OSU straight into the playoffs if they beat Iowa.

Oklahoma State is in if they beat Baylor & Georgia wins the SEC.

Re: Conference Championship Week

Georgia is favored by 5.5 over Alabama with the early lines. It's an interesting matchup because Georgia's secondary is very vulnerable , but the front 7 is usually capable of controlling the line of scrimmage to cover up for those holes. Meanwhile Alabama does have some good passing ability, but their own defense is pretty suspect.

I still worry about Georgia's offense. The big worry being Stetson Bennet. He's the inferior option vs the guy who should be starting at QB, and we have seen this offense sputter numerous times this year when playing teams with actual talent (which fortunately for Stetson, wasn't often this year). With Stetson starting, this offense lacks any form of greatness. Georgia has thrown for fewer than 3,000 yards on the season combined, and there isn't some great running game to fall back on. Georgia's leading rusher has less than 700 yards on the ground. The only special player that we have seen on offense is Brock Bowers, a tight end...in an offense that only throws the ball 25 times a game. Fortunately Alabama has their own deficiencies, but as weird as it is to say about a team who is 12-0 for the first time in my life...I kind of hate watching Georgia when they have the ball, and at some point this great defense is going to get beat and the offense will have to carry their weight.

Re: Conference Championship Week

If I gambled, I would jump all over Georgia at -5.5

I just don't see Alabama doing anything on offense with the state of their OL against Georgia's front 4.

Bryce is really good, but he's going to be running for his life

That AAC title game between Cincinnati and Houston is not going to be a gimme for sure. Should be a good game.

Hope Pitt gets some of their WRs back for Saturday night. Should be a fun one.

Re: Conference Championship Week

I hope Georgia wins, but it seems like every time you count Alabama out, it rises back up. The last time Alabama was an underdog was in 2015 against ... Georgia. And Alabama won that game 38-10.

Early on, it seems like Utah just has Oregon’s number.

Re: Conference Championship Week

Oregon stayed in Eugene by the looks of it.
