Xbox 360: 2009-2010 Roster Project.

This week I will start working on the 2009-2010 rosters, I'm starting as soon as possible to be ready by the beginning of the season and not have problems that we have faced this year.

I've spoken to a few people, any help would be great and I'm just putting this out to you people that their will be a great set of rosters to come out before seasons start.

Of course feedback is welcomed on transfers, recruits, players (overrated and underrated), etc.

PLEASE don't rate players high. At most there should be two players in the 90s, maybe 10 in the 85-89 range, and the majority of the better players on power teams would be in the 80-84 range. Take a look at the classic teams to see a good example of how the ratings should be spread out for the teams.

Shoot me a PM if you need help, I have some formulas for potential and 3pt % that DC came up with that might help.

Thanks, i'm pretty realistic when it comes to rating teams. DC is also helping me with this project and I would love to have the formulas. Shoot me a pm if your interested.

Its alot of work but with enough people its more than possible, I'd be willing to give some input, but my schedule fluxuates. But i would help when i can.

I am not trying to be Hitler here or anything but, I think we need to stick to the same formulas. I have a lot of things that I do when it comes to these rosters that are proven.

A lot of credit to 500bloc and work we have done in the past. I still use his formulas to this day.

But I will be writing some things up that people need to stick to when creating these rosters because (no disrespect) people that created freshmen last year did a bad job when it came to overrating their talent levels.

But I will discuss this. Again sorry if I am coming off as a jerk but I am confident in my knowledge of the 2K Rating System

DC, is there any way you could PM me your formulas for creating players. There was an old spreadsheet that I was trying to use, but that failed to give all of the ratings and I felt that it overrated/underrated players too often. There were too many 90+ guys as well as too much of a dropoff for non-starters. It looks like you have a great handle on the rating system and if you have a spreadsheet or formula set I would like to use it to either help you guys create rosters OR to simply use it to create my roster set for either older rosters or just to use to update rosters for this year/next year.

I agree. I'd rather work for proven formulas instead of rating randomly.

Krauser sorry if I came off the wrong way. I didn't mean any disrespect to anyone's rosters. Didn't mean to rub you or anyone else the wrong way.

But as I said, people that did the rosters last year overrated the Freshman severely. I just don't want to run into that issue again, while I didn't think I was knocking anyone's rosters, I apologize

Many of your theory are just cookie cutter idea- like all elite players with 99 consistency which are really just done to save time and not to be necessarily accurate. Alot of players with elite stats are not consistency. While you can hail yourself the god of whatever you want. All i see is same know it all attitude you always present.

Actually these things have been confirmed and aren't just ways to save me time Krause.

I hope your rosters turn out well. No hard feelings. OS boards just seem to be so negative and demanding in general i took it the wrong way, when i took a break after arguing with cubfan and looked back at the posts i knew i over reacted.

I wish the mods would step into the ncaa, show, etc forums more and just clean out the posts and posters who really seem to be bring this site down to the lowest common denominator. Instead, it seems anything goes now.

I am not sure i buy the 99 in consistency for all elite players being the right thing to do but i am sure not everyone agreed with things i do. I'll be interested to see how it works out. I have been wrong before. The other ratings ideas mentioned i do think are very good ideas for whats its worth.
