Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
I turn the feature off every year. I've never seen one called on the CPU and the only time I get the called on me are when they are BS (eg: I break the plane and beat the defender, but since he's still kinda near me the keep the count on)."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

i believe they have to be holding the ball w/o dribbling for the call to occurOriginally posted by mugginnsAnyone seen a 5 seconds closely guarded call yet?

Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
I got called for it 6 or 7 times in my last game (Norfolk St. vs Kentucky) and they never call it on the cpu. The have the call all messed up, because if you make forward progress it's supposed to resest for another 5secs. I will turn it off if i was you, because there is no way to set up an offense and run the plays when they do this.Comment

You can hold the ball for 5 seconds and dribble the ball for 5 seconds. Both are violationsOriginally posted by Jm0ney2001i believe they have to be holding the ball w/o dribbling for the call to occurComment

Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
Yes and the rule is very flawed in the game. If I want to, I should be able to hold it for 4 seconds with a defender closely guarding me, dribble for 4 more seconds with a defender closely guarding me, and hold it for 4 more seconds still with a defender closely guarding me. But, if you try that in the game, the count isn't reset when you begin to or pick up your dribble, and it gives you the violation after 5 seconds.Boston Red Sox l New England Patriots l Boston Celtics l Massachusetts Minutemen l Boston College EaglesComment

Re: 5 seconds closely guarded
This is incorrect, it's true if your holding the ball and then start to dribble your 5 seconds reset. However, if you are dribbling and pick up the ball it does not reset, the count stays on. The only time that the count resets when you are dribbling is if you make a move twoard the basket and then back out. Just picking up your dribble does not restart the count.Originally posted by APD0290Yes and the rule is very flawed in the game. Now with the game, it's messed up, they don't get any of it right so it's best to turn it off. This is a really hard rule to incorporate in a video game since there is so much judgement involved of a "move twoards the basket".Comment
