Now how do you redshirt a player? What buttons to press? Where is it done?

Never mind I finally found where to do it.

They change it from 2k5. In 2k5 it is done in the lineup screen
this time around they have it on the roster screen

it appears on the same screen that lets you edit a player, edit first name, last name... If the player hasnt used a RS year, there is an option to redshirt player.

just highlight a player on the roster, press A for xbox (X for ps2) and there should be an option to redshirt. I think you have to redshirt a player at the beginning of a season.. a few weeks in.

basically you can "sitout" a player from ALL playing time for a given year, to give him more time to grow and get better as a player. so instead of wasting time on a bench as a freshman, 3 deep at the SF spot. you can sitout that year, and still be considered a freshman the next year. so youre given that "extra year". so instead of being a sophmore and only 3 years left, you still have 4.

this can work for all years, if your player hasnt already used it. its good for one season

heres another definition: "Redshirting allows an athlete to skip a year of play without losing a year of eligibility. A player usually redshirts a season due to an injury or academic problems"

yeah a player usually redshirts because of an injury or to develop their body/skills in a year when they dont expect to contribute much on the court.
