I own CH 2k7 right now and although the graphics are extremely dated compared to NBA 2k8, the gameplay is pretty solid so I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy CH 2k8.

The major differences if i recall right are: The plays are diagramed on the court for you, you can also create plays, The isos are tied to the buttons, maximum passing was added (for me it is useless but others might like it), and the sim engine was tweaked for less upsets. Post patch things like progession i hear are better. Overall, i cannot say i enjoy 2K8 more than i did 2K7 (at that time or at least pre patch) but i do think it was a step forward and i don't regret buying it. Post patch i think i will clearly favor it.Gamertag and PSN Name: RomanCaesarComment

The unity effect was too overblown in 2K7 - it's just about right in 2K8. The same goes for the sim engine - all results you get are pretty believable. In 2K7, small schools with high unity dominated top programs.
The CPU is no longer automatic from the foul line in 2K8 (last year they just about never missed).
IMO the way the CPU runs its offense has improved.
There is the option to use off-ball/dual player control from NBA 2K8 but it's at the expense of maximum passing (ie hold LB as a modifier and press a face button to select the type of pass you want). You can either use one or the other, not both at once."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."
