    editing players in open legacy

So I just figured out you can edit players attributes, and am trying to make necessary adjustments.

For example, my PG is a 75 and his tendency is a distributor. I want to make him a shoot first. when I change that, his rating jumps to an 85.

Is this correlation right, or should I adjust his rating back down to a 75 somehow so his skill level is still the same overall as it was before?

I don't know if this is still the case with CHoops 2k8 but in NBA 2k8 it says all the players are set at the same preset, even if the ratings are different. For example, all PGs are distributors, all SG and SFs are slashers, all PF and C are finesse.

When you change that preset thing in the attributes, you might be changing all the attributes as well. You'd be better off with changing the tendencies themselves.
Go to hell Carolina, go to hell!

The preset's mean nothing and have no affect on the player's current ratings. However, if you change it, it will change all of the players attributes the the preset ratings for that specific preset. For instance, Player A's default setting is SF - Slasher, his ratings are not actually the default slasher ratings. If you were to change his preset to another setting it would change all of his attributes, thus making him a lot better.

Each preset setting is a different set of attributes in short. It's not like it actually changes how your player plays, just his attributes.

Wow, can you explain this again please? How does changing all his attributes not change how he plays? I am curious now and want to understand this. Perhaps give an example with a player and made up attributes and walk us through this.
