    Increasing team unity?

    Hey everyone,

I did a search for team unity, and I got a lot of information about how it effects simming, etc. However, I didn't find any information on how to INCREASE team unity. I have a very good team full of young players that is 10-1, but has very low (20%) team unity. Are their drills or certain weekly options to perform that can increase this value?

    Thanks,
    CBASS

Keeping the same starting 5 and rotation increases team unity

If you're 10-1 you should probably be on your way. Usually you need to have a good group of players that have grown together and a couple of good upperclassmen players that can be COF's (Coaches on the Floor) to help unite the team.

And as mentioned before, make sure your starting lineup is consistent, as well as the roles of the players off the bench.

Is coach on the floor related to offensive awareness? How can I help train for that attribute? I am starting all freshman and sophomores, so the SR leadership thing is hard to find this year.

Also, is there a place to set roles for each player? I haven't seen that yet...am I overlooking that?

          Close.

In order for a player to be a COF, he needs to fulfill 2 requirements:
          1. He must have 80 awareness on the team unity screen. This awareness rating is an average of the players offensive awareness and defensive awareness, so a guy with great offensive awareness, but crappy defensive awareness will likely not qualify. Furthermore, to be a COF in a game, this is based on his in game awareness rating which will be higher as long as the player has good confidence (as good confidence increases all ratings in game). The only caveat here is that I don't know how confidence and COF works for simmed games.

          2. He must have 4/6 bars of experience (or whatever it's called) on the same team unity page.

So, a very aware FR won't be a COF.
A 4 year starter with low awareness won't be a COF.
A very aware SR who has rarely played throughout his career, and thus doesn't have much game experience, won't be a COF.
However, a very aware SO who has started every game will likely become a COF towards the end of his SO year, and will definitely be one at the beginning of his JR year.

          EDIT:
Oh yeah. And if you have a player that you want to be a COF, but doesn't meet the awareness criterion, you can have him train this in the development section. For training, awareness is one of the options (like shooting, rebounding, etc) and it'll increase his O. awareness, D. awareness, clutch, and something else too I think, maybe consistency.

As far as the experience criterion goes, the only way to improve this is by playing him. I think that the end of the SO season is about the earliest a player can fulfill the experience requirement for COF.

            Re: Increasing team unity?

I decided this season to turn off "Team Unity" and turn on "Clutch." My previous 2 seasons I've had these features the other way around. I'm not sure I like that Unity effects my guys attributes while on the floor.
I've not decided 100% on this but I'm rolling with it for now. Just throwing that out there since we're talking about Team Unity.

I like the team unity idea, the more a team plays together the better they become over the course of the season/s. I think the higher the unity becomes the better they play.
              Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

                  Re: Increasing team unity?

Man Jello...I combed through every menu last night and I could not find the individual experience bars for each player...could you give me a little help and let me know under what menu it's listed? I know I've seen it before, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. I see team unity on the main dynasty page, but that's it. I've been avoiding trying to turn things off, such as clutch or what not, because this game plays so well out of the box, IMHO. However, I do get the feeling team unity is playing a role in the way my guys play this season...maybe because of all the young guys. They're all over the place, from a ten point win at Texas Tech (rating 84), to a last second win on the road at UMASS (rating 77) after being down 12, a 20 point blowout win over Texas at home (rating 88), and a 5 point loss at home to K-State (rating 84). My overall team rating is 82. Maybe I'm playing down to the competition (wink), maybe I'm just not very good (more likely). HA!

I'm at work so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure the team unity page can be seen when looking at your team. IE. go to the standings page and push one of the sticks (on 360) to look at the details of your team. You can use the triggers to cycle through the different screens (IE. schedule, W/L record against top 25, RPI top 50, etc, conference/stadium you play in, etc). One of those screen is the team unity page where it'll show the awareness and game experience for your starters.

i was in the elite eight before and it definitely showed me all of my players' expierence bars...sadly i have no clue where this is in a menu. it showed that my senior PF that started since his soph year had 6 expierence bars and was a COF, while my soph guard who had only started on and off and was in and out of the rotation, had 1 expierence bar and was NOt a COF. i found lots of things searching around the coaching stuff menus

I do the same thing, I'll find something then forget where I saw it. This game is rediculously deep and thats one of the reasons I keep coming back to it.
I had team unity off to start of the season with 3 Freshman, 1 soph, and a senior with limited playing experience. I've since decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. I handle teams on my home court but really struggle ont he road because of my guys lack of experience. Very realistic.

yaay i found it go under team unity in the pause menu, its under coaching. it shows stamina, ovr awareness, the little expierence bars, and some other stuff. i found it by accident when i was messing around in the pause menu, had a great game against cuse wit uconn. won by 3, but it was tied with 7 seconds left. anyway, hope this helps you!

I found it...thanks for the help everybody! I do agree that keeping the team unity on does make things very realistic. My young team struggles on the road against good opponents, but the POKES have been throttling people at home. It's been a struggle lately deciding which to spend my time on...College Hoops or MLB '09 The Show (which I find equally ridiculously awesome)!
