    X button or R stick?

Which do you guys prefer to use when shooting? Me, I tend to use the X button since I've pressed a button to shoot in pretty much every basketball game I've owned.

Was curious too if there was a difference at all in accuracy between the 2 shooting options?

I use X, I also don't like using the stick for any games for stuff that I have been using a button for a long time

I use the x button for jumpers cause it feels weird pulling back the right stick for a jump shot. But for dunks or layups when I am close to the basket I use the right stick cause I can control how I want to take the shot. I can choose to do a fancy dunk or just slam it down with two hands. I can even choose to go up left handed or right handed layup.

The stick feels really intuitive close to the goal, especially when shots are being contested.

I could never get the timing down using it for jumpers though. That definitley buttoo territory.

I use the X button for jumpers and I'm trying to get used to using the R stick for layups and dunks.

I started using the stick because if seemed like my guys would get the shot away quicker. Whenever I use the button it seems to take longer and my guys tend take their time squaring up for the shot.

Re: X button or R stick?

I always use the stick... the first few games it was something I had to force myself to due (i'd keep reverting back to the x button w/out even realizing it), but after a few games it just becomes second nature, but provides more control

as for jumpers, you dont have to pull back on the stick for jumpers, when your that far away from the hoop, you can pretty much push the stick in any direction and they will pull up like a normal jumper

the only time i shoot w/ x is when i try to hop step but they decide to shoot instead lol

Sounds like I'm in the majority.

I'm starting to finally grasp the R-stick post moves. I like the up-and-under, although I often only get the up part and my guy just stands there as I jam on the stick trying to get him to shoot, lol.

The R-stick is also nice for putbacks and layups/dunks. I find I get fewer shots blocked if I use the stick as opposed to the X button in the paint.

Button for jumpers (and I've been using it on drives to the hoop lately as well), stick for the inside stuff if I want to control what happens....even though to date I haven't mentally worked out that "Direction relative to the basket" thing, should've just been "left is such-and-such no matter what" as far as I'm concerned.

X for jumpers, but around the rim I use the stick.
