A move I can't seem to figure out.

I have done this a couple of times, but I have no idea how I did it. I love this move, but not sure if there is a combination of buttons to pull this off.

I was driving to the basket on a fast break (1 on 1) and I just hit the X button (on xbox) and I did a spin move into a layup.

I know how to do a spin move, but this was different. It was one move all together. The spin move was quicker than the usual spin move and he automatically went into layup. It was sweet.

Anyone know any combinations to pull this off?

I think it may be automatic. If the player has a high enough layup rating it can happen on it's own it seems.

Try holding the right stick away from the basket. I think that may be it, but it won't do it every time. I'm pretty sure ratings and circumstance play a factor as well.

      I love that move.

I think that is the runner?

I know you have to release early for the runner.

The spin move layup you have to hold the right stick... And it may be forward instead of back, I forget.

I know I had a sweet lefty juco PG/SG on my Gonzaga legacy team at one point who I could get to do this move pretty regularly.

I'm pretty sure it's hold away from the rim with the right stick.

thanks guys ... I will give it a shot.

I agree ... it is one of my favorite moves on here.

I just wish the spin moves and fadeaways (off the dribble) were a little quicker. Other than that ... it's great because so many moves you only see every once in a while make it that more special.

You definitely have to use the shotstick and not the X button to get this on command but I also think it's contextual. I can't remember if you have to be holding turbo or not but left or right on the shot stick should do it.

I can confirm for this move you need a player with a high layup rating. My brand new freshman SF does it every so often. Last night he did it twice in one game and I remember holding turbo + shot stick towards the hoop.

It is somewhat random, but I think the key is spacing and and opening to the players strong hand to finish. Also I noticed that you usually need 2 dribbles in movement to get the move to work ie. If your dancing around the perimeter and you beat your man and only take one bounce to go towards the hoop your less likely to get the animation if you were on a fast break taking multiple bounces in full stride.

                Hope this helps

A player with higher quickness, handle, layup ratings does this on their own more often.

Thanks guys. I also can confirm the shot stick (towards the rim) + turbo. I played and experimented by using the shot stick different directions the whole game. Didn't happen a lot, but it was def. the ticket ... on a side note ... I always have a hard time deciding which shot stick to use when I drive the lane.
Do you all notice that it's better (when driving) to use the shot stick around the free throw line compared to closer to the rim? When I drive to close to the rim, it seems like I get blocked a lot.

Dunno if this is what you're talking about, but . . .

While driving, if you hold turbo and tap your shot button as if you were doing a head fake, your player will do a short spin and pick up his dribble. If you're in the right spot on the court, you can transition this into a lay-up by using the shot stick.

Thats what I was thinking too, which is a great move with a guy that has high layup ratings, but I think their talking about a fluid all in one move. I'm gonna give it a shot and see if its different. Turbo + shot stick towards rim.

Side note: the move we are referring too, the hop step to a layup, I have found is great for creating fouls/ free throw attempts.

I know what you are talking about, but I was asking about the all-in-one move. It seems like when I do this (as mentioned above) ... there is some hesitation in the shot. ... also, I was able to do it last night with John Wall by just hitting the shot button (while driving). I pushed it right around the free throw line. I pulled it off a couple of times. It is so sporadic.
