Still possible to play College Hoops 2K8 on PS3?

I recently bought a copy of College Hoops 2K8 for the PS3, but when the game initially loads, it prompts me to download the latest update. After selecting "OK" I get an HTTP 503 error and am unable to continue further. I assume the game is attempting to download the latest patch and may be failing due to the 2K servers being shut down for this game.

Does anyone know of a way around this so that I can enjoy the game?

PSN has the patch update, not 2k, so it is likely a problem on your end, probably something wrong with your network settings. If you can get on PSN, it should work.
