    I’m finally getting next-gen

I know this is almost an impossible task, and please forgive me if this has been posted somewhere else in here, but I really can’t decide between PS5 and Xbox.

I’m originally an Xbox user, currently have an Xbox one but it’s collecting dust as I’ve drifted away from video games over the past 2 years but with NCAA 25 coming out, it’s only right for me to return with it.

Though my Xbox has been collecting dust, my cousin and sisters boyfriend have both let me play their PlayStation 5 as of late & admittedly, I do enjoy the system.

Gameplay seems relatively smoother, and I’m under the belief that PlayStation has better games, but I feel like my entire gaming community of friends are all on Xbox, so I’m struggling with what to do. Playstation online is free? if I’m not mistaken, & that seems like a big factor.

Obviously it’s all personal preference, but I guess I’m trying to get feedback from users who have play both systems, or just in general, gather more information for both sides.

    Can y’all help me out?

If you're going next gen for NCAA only, The difference between both consoles will be small at best. The rest of your decision is just preference on what you like about either consoles.

I don't think anyone wants to open that can of worms on the PS5 vs Xbox debate when it comes to anything. I've own both of every Playstation and Xbox released and couldn't give you a definite answer.

I like the Xbox controller, The PS5 dashboard, Xbox Live and Gamepass, The PS5 color and design, Quick resume on Xbox, PS5 exclusives, etc.

Your preferences may differ from mine.

Yeah, I mean there's a lot of factors you could consider.

If your friends are on xbox and you are primarily getting a new gen console for CFP 25 I'd say get an Xbox.

If you have any interest gaming beyond sports games I'd say check out Sony and MS exclusives and figure out what you prefer. The discussion becomes more in depth at that point.

I'd say keep it simple and go xbox based on what you're saying.

Sorry for the double post, but also wanted to add that online pay is not free for Sony. Hasn't been since the PS3 days.

I haven't paid for either consoles online service in over three years so I'm not sure who's is more expensive. They've both wrapped their online multi-player costs with their subscription rental services.

Either way, you're paying for online multi-player.

If you want to talk about Value, then get an XBox if you plan to get an Xbox game pass. I won both an like things about each system. But Xbox at the moment seems like it going in a pretty great direction as of late. Like the other user said, PS online is not free and will cost $70 to play online.
