Streaming files to Xbox 360

I am having a problem enabling Windows Media Player 11 to share files with my Xbox 360. I've followed the directions to click "Share my Media," but the OK button goes gray for a few seconds and nothing else happens. I cannot get to the list of available connections to share with. Any help?

Have you added your "Computer" to the 360 from the dash first?

You can also use a program called TVersity that's able to stream avi and wmv files as well as music and pictures. It's not very hard to setup and it's free.

TVersity is good too. It's also a heck of a lot easier to setup than figuring out the mess with connecting WMP11 to the XBox.

That's what I wanted to hear. I finally had it all set up and running last year with Media connect, but for some reason I just can't get it to work with WMP11. They should really thinking about making the whole setup process a bit more user friendly.

My 360 can see the computer on the network, but it can't connect to it. The directions say to enable sharing through WMP 11, but WMP 11 can't see anything.
