No question. I've been gaming since 1981, and the DC was the zenith for me when you combined pure fun and innovation.

Some great DC titles, and sorry if some already have been mentioned:

Soul Calibur
Jet Grind Radio
F355 Challenge
Vanishing Point
Tokyo Xtreme Racer
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2
Daytona USA
Test Drive V Rally
Sega Rally
Metropolis Street Racer
NFL 2K1
Crazy Taxi
NHL 2K2
Virtua Tennis
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
Quake III Arena
Unreal Tournament
NBA 2K1
Test Drive Le Mans
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Ecco the Dolphin
Looney Tunes Space Race

Man, the DC had a TON of great games for a system that lasted only about three years.

Ah, those were the days. Brings a tear to my eye.

Take care,
PK

Re: Retro Talk: Dreamcast

I forgot one and probably many others: Toy Commander

That was one of the most creative video games I've ever played.

EDIT: Now I'm looking on ebay trying to find a Dreamcast with a nice bundle of games. I've got 2 DCs in my room, but neither of them work. I want one so bad just to play every now and then.

Re: Retro Talk: Dreamcast

for baseball definitely world series baseball 2k1 or 2k2. 2k3 was nice but the pitches came in so slowly you couldn't help but score like 20 runs a game.

other sports games, all the 2k games were good, but also really good was Tennis and tennis 2k2. Never had that much fun playing a tennis game before.

completely second power stone and marvel vs. capcom 2. I'm not even a fan of the marvel thing, but that game is completely awesome, especially when the you learn the special moves (and they're not that hard to learn). Soul Caliber is a must-own.

flying games, I really liked Air Force Delta.

shooters, DC was lacking, but I really liked Outtrigger. Code Veronica is awesome, but without dual joysticks it's a little weird to control. Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena were fun, but I had them on PC where they were much better.

Sega GT is like a poor-man's Gran Turismo, but when you get to the highest-end F-1 type cars, they're impossible to control.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, pretty awesome. I spent so much time on the hanger level that I eventually perfected a 500,000-point trick (hey, when you're in college, you've got time to do those types of things)

crazy taxi, hydro thunder also a ton of fun, even if they are very simple games.

...man, I miss the dreamcast.

WSB 2K1 was HORRIBLE. You couldn't even control your fielders! It sure was pretty for its day, though. Still, avoid like herpes.[/quote]

Re: Retro Talk: Dreamcast

Incredible system. I still have it, along with about 30 games.

My vote for most underrated goes to Spawn. It's a Qukae-like, run & gun game. I always liked Sapwn, so maybe that's part of why I love the game so much. It has a lot of different characters with varied abilities.

Others that were A titles for me:
Tony Hawk 1 & 2
NBA 2k2
Virtua Tennis
There was an Olympics game that was pretty fun. Too many button mashing events, but a few, like Diving were pretty cool.
There was a rally game that was really good (no, not Sega Rally)
Test Drive Le Mans

Once I get home and check the closet, I'm sure I'll find a few more for ya

I still have mine.
Why can't they just make a few more games for it?
