It suppose to be a big a huge firmware update. No official release date or no official things to be released. It it suppose to be released same time as the European release which is going to be Friday or Thursday. We will see what happens in a week.

I hope 360 V2 comes out soon. It would be really nice to have a quieter drive and hopefully the 3 rings of death issues have been fixed as well.

I didn't know that the update was coming this soon. Plus, all I've heard is rumors on what their going to fix, but nothing concrete. I thought maybe someone had a few confirmed details on the update.

I agree with you. Personally my biggest thing with the PS3 is frame rate! Motorstorm and Resistance are flawless but almost all of the ports have issues. Hopefully multiplatform developers won't take too long to get it going. And the Playstation Edge tool will hopefully make a big difference.

Look at Armored Core 4, how much better it looks and flows on the 360.

The update on thursday is suppose to let you do ...

- background downloading
- view friends list while in game
- send/receive messages while in game
- allow you to use your remote play function with the psp all over the world via the internet (dont know exactly how this will work, do u have to leave your ps3 on at all times??? will it work while it's on standby??)

- and a couple of other small things, but thats all the online stuff


if all this came out on thursday, i would not even think about trading in the ps3, so hopefully it does, because thats all I really need to make online enjoyable.

29th is my birthday and if the new 360 was released then it would be the greatest b-day present ever. But I highly doubt it. From what I've read, anywhere from May to July.
