360 exchange question..

Okay, here's the story. As of late my 360 has been saying my discs are "unreadable." My GoW no longer works and every now and then my CH2K7 works and doesn't work.

So, STUPID me can't find the receipt. Durrrrr.. gg me. Has anyone else successfully returned/swapped their 360 without a receipt?

I purchased my 360 with a Best Buy credit card - would that be proof enough to swap 360's?

Anyway, just curious if anyone had a similar experience. Thx.

Re: 360 exchange question..

If you purchased it with a BB credit card all you have to do is return it to the store. Tell them you lost the receipt and you paid it with a BB credit card. They'll look up the transaction on their computer for and you should be all set.

If you didn't use a credit card... you could try the Wal-Mart switcheroo.

That's what I assumed, if they had my purchase date and my credit payment history I would assume it was as good as a receipt.

Re: 360 exchange question..

It can vary sometimes. The store I work at doesn't prompt us to scan the serial whenever we sell a system, but most of the time the people at CS call us up there to check to make sure that everything is in the box.

So, if I take it to Best Buy will my swap work out? Seeing that I have a Best Buy credit card and that's how my 360 was purchased.

Take it back to BB and go to CS. They should have NO problems pulling up your transaction on the system. I remember I lost my receipt and they asked if I paid with a CC, which btw I did. They asked for it, did a search on the system and bingo their was a match. I was able to do an exchange.

In other words there's really no need to do a switcheroo at BB.
