Thinking of getting a PS3

After research it looks like the trade in value is horrible for 360s. I'm just gonna hang on. Thanks for all of the advice and comments.

By the way I hope people do doubt BJ. I want him on my Fantasy team.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you...I had a 360 before but sold it (never had any problems with it)...I'm mainly a sports gamer though..Don't have a HDTV yet, but will in the future..but will probably just get an upconvert DVD player until a Blu-Ray/HD DVD dual player comes under $500. What would you advice I get?

If there is any time to get a PS3 it is now! $100 price drop and five free blu rays.

You should be able to get $300-350 on eBay and you can always sell those five free blu rays on eBay as well.

People have posted on the forums that PS3 version of NCAA 08 is unplayable and horrible. Wrong. I ran both the 360 and PS3 side by side and only difference was 360 was smoother. Smoother running and animations. But the PS3 version did not lag at all, just no as smooth. Not a huge deal.

Other things to consider is you get the best baseball game around... MLB The Show. Another thing is you said you like NCAA games. MS will keep on coming up with new ways to stop sharing files so who knows if trading rosters next year on the 360 will work.

okay is the online really horrible? in what way?are there a lot of people playing it?

i had a 360 for 8 months, but wanna get a ps3 for the show and mainly the F1 series.

Downloads are slow, but they have improved.

You cannot read, send, or access your friends list while in game. You have to exit the game.

XBL Marketplace has a million more demos, videos, movies, themes/pictures, over PSN.

Really hard getting games with friends together for some games.

Good thing about PS3 is that they release firmware updates pretty quickly.

Once Home is released in October than that should be a more fair comparison.

My concern is that once Home is released it will probably make the online portion of playing games even worse. We'll see but PSN is pretty bad when trying to play online games. MLB is a joke online.
