Re: Future 360 Games Will Require the HDD?

I really do hope that games will start to require the HDD. I'm sorry it will alienate the Core base, but they'll have to go out and buy a HDD if they want to enjoy the game. I think that this is one of the reasons why its also been adding to the heat of the system...................because the DVD is just continuosly spinning and we know how hot it gets in that system after you have taken a game out, the damn disc is so hot I can cook an egg on it. By caching info off of the HDD less stress on the DVD drive too.

I agree. It would suck for the core owners, but there would be many more opportunities. In fact, I can see a day when we will all need the larger HDD, not just the 20gig or whatever it is. When the 360 lauched it should've been the 20gig and the Elite.

They should of never had the core to begin with! Kind of a step backwards imo for what was to become the next level in gaming.

you'd think MS would want more people with HDD's. It would drive even more XBL Marketplace sales. Movies and tv shows are all there, and the more people with a standard HDD the better.

You don't need an expensive new media drive when you have a big enough HDD.

They need to require hard drives for games. I don't know of anyone who owns just a core without a hard drive or why they would waste money on a system without a hard drive.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I bought a headset the other day and the guy at best buy was like, "did you lose your headset?"....weird question in many ways. I could have broken it or something, I'm not sure how you would lose it. But anyway I told him I had a core and he said he didn't know anybody actually had one of those things. I laughed.
Why do you own a core without a hard drive?

Maybe a mod can combine both threads since this one is an update to yours.
