PS2 Freezes

Hi, everyone,
I'm not a regular poster, but thought I'd see if anyone had any thoughts. I have a PS2 about 8 years old. It freezes up about 30 minutes into a game. Every game I have I've tried and they all make it to about the 30 minute mark and freeze. Never had this problem before. I took the console apart and cleaned the lens, put it back together and again got to play for about 30 minutes. Is there something else I can do? Or should I just put up the money for a new one?

I would, especially if your talking an almost 8 year old PS2, damn I never got that kind of mileage out of a PS2. Also the slim PS2's are somewhat more reliable than the fatty's.
