and I wonder how real the 360's numbers are. They can either be inflated, or could be much larger if most 360's owners weren't on their 32nd console. I just started a new job and 4 people in the office have 360's. All are on their 2nd or 3rd. These are common stories all over around the internet. People at UPS can even recognize the coffins before you walk in the store. I seriously doubt there's more working 360's out there than wii's, and maybe the gap between the ps3 and 360 isn't as big as believed.

The lead is gone, and the only benefit of the year head start is that developers are more used to making games on it.

Like BK said that's probably the only reason, and it's also the main reason why MS wanted to be first out of the gate. Pretty smart on their part until the deck of cards came crashing down. Now they are paying the price and IMO the worst ain't over. I expect Sony to close the gap even further because of shoddy hardware.

if MS were ignoring the hardware problems like they were in the beginning, I'd agree. However, they are addressing the problem.

I hope your right but the 360 design is so flawed i'm not so sure putting in new chips and heatsinks will solve the problems. The system needs a top to bottom redesign similar to what happened to the SlimPS2's. If MS doesn't add any front air ventilation then I see more RROD although it might just take a little longer for them to appear.

It's common knowledge as we all know these things are flawed. Sony if they are smart can capitalize on this.

Not turn this into a PS3/360 debate, but Sony is going to need another price drop because that ol bait and switch was nothing but b.s. Consumers mostly look at the bottom line, "how much do I have to pay?"

Where in the world is the 360 dominant? Nowhere. With a one year head start, its lead over the Wii in all parts of the world outside of Japan should be wider than it is in America and "Rest Of." The 360 is in danger of becoming one of the few "first to market" consoles not to win its generation. See Saturn, Sega (I won't put the Dreamcast in here, because that was really a "tweener" system).
