I wonder if the 40 will be the 20... no chrome, no WiFi, etc.

If it is, then it will probably be discontinued like the 20. I still think they should have kept the 60 and came out with a 160 or something like that in winter. I know you can upgrade to a bigger HDD for cheap but a lot of people won't know that.

The Xbox units are separated a lot better. No HDD, 20GB and 120GB. With Sony this is their 4th unit and they are pretty much the same as the 20 and 60. Oh, but without the emotion chip.

Thats not a bad deal. Sony should be able to get back in the game with those prices. Fix the scaling, and I'm in for 400.00

Seriously, if you have any interest in that type of game at all, at least give it a rent (I noticed Blockbuster had a copy when I went in the other day). Me and some of the other OS'ers are having a blast with it. And the server issues seem to be fixed, or at least much better than they were - I'm not having nearly as much trouble finding a game now.

I'm still happy I got the 60 GB PS3 when I did. Even if the price is cut, as time goes on the chance of getting one with full PS2 compat (which was a must for me) gets smaller and smaller. That 20 gigger with Spidey should definitely move some systems around the holidays, though.

The problem is I can't play a demo of Warhawk. I know nothing of the game and don't want to commit $40/$60 to it until I do.

$399 is a nice price point. I would jumped a lot sooner to get that version. I guess the 60 GB and emotion engine is nice but I would have rather paid $100 less to get the $399 one myself.

Yeah, that may have to be my wife's Christmas present this year. She'll love the blu ray player

If that Uncharted game plays as good as it looks, the PS3 will be a must buy at Christmas.

Hmm..I was just about to get a PS3 either this week or the next. I guess I'll wait for this drop to get mines.

Was that Emotion Engine thing used for anything else besides running older games on the PS3? If that's all it was used for I can definitely wait this out since I have no intentions of playing any PS2/1 games on the PS3.
