If you want to be safe get a warranty from MS 1 yr for $26 (or something like that).

It may not be available on a refurb. I'm surprised they honor the 90 day MS warranty. I've been reading some good things about this company.....I'm pretty encouraged so far. Product testing happens tonight.

Well the update is that the only glitch with the machine is a bit of a bum disc tray. Strangely, it jams to open when there isn't a disc in, but functions well when there is one in. I discovered that even when it ejects properly, it doesn't come all the way out, but it is functional. The machine doesn't seem to heat excessively and everything else is working adequately. I don't think I'm going to go through the hassle of sending this thing back for repair for something this minor. And with a 4 year warranty, I can always get that repaired later if something else comes up. So all in all I'd give this deal an A(-).

Hehe....well it is true for the most part. It was his choice to do with the chunk of change we gave him as he pleased. He had to make a choice, but dad benefits as long as he's in the house! It still kills me to pay THAT much for a game, but I'll probably keep it to hockey and that's it. Now, it's a matter of which title....the crowd seems split. I tried the APF demo last night and was impressed at the look, but I don't think it does THAT much more than 2K5. The 2K7 baseball demo also did little for me. It'll be interesting to see the long term consistency of this thing.
