Can someone school me on the Wii?

I am thinking of purchasing the Wii for my son for Christmas. This much I know, is that it will be fun for the whole family. I think my wife who despises video games, might like it.

What I need to know:

Do you have to purchase a internet adapter or does it come with one like the PS3?

How do you purchase Wii sports?

Does the nunchuck and other controller come with the system?

That's pretty much all I need to know.

Thanks for answering my questions!

1 - It's wireless like the PS3, so if you have wireless internet, you're good to go.

2 - Wii Sports comes with every single Wii

3 - Yes

Thanks for the quick reply EG! Last question. Is the nunchuck essential for all games or does it only come into play for certain games?? Thanks.

Only certain games use it, most do, but there's a bunch of games that don't.

Do you need the nun-chuck for party games, like Mario Party 8 and Warioware?

Wait, I have another one. Can you play old NES games like Tyson's punch out and Super Tecmo Bowl?? Does the Wii have a slot for those?

You can buy some old NES, SNES, N64, and other system games on the Wii's Virtual Console, but you can't play any old games you own on it. It's not backward compatible with the NES, sorry lol.

You'll probably want to buy a 2nd Wiimote and nunchuk if you want to play 2 player.
