    Datel 360 Transfer Kit discontinued?

I recently decided to trust Microsoft's manufacturing enough to get an XBOX 360, and the Datel Transfer Kit is no longer in stock anywhere locally or even in stock on retail websites. Is it being discontinued? I checked Datel's site and they don't even list it as one of their 360 products anymore. Could they be coming out with something new, or did Microsoft finally bully Datel into submission?

And yes, I know I can get one off of eBay. I most likely will.

I think Microsoft's flagging of certain gamertag's really cut into the sales of these....makes roster sharing a bit more difficult.

That said, I have been looking into either getting the Data Transfer Kit (and a memory card) or the Xport....anyone have any recommendations? Is one easier to use than the other?

Well most people here upload files with and for use with the Datel Transfer Kit, so I figure that's what you should go with.

Re: Datel 360 Transfer Kit discontinued?

Sorry to go a little off topic here guys but my friend has a question about the datel transfer kit and I thought that maybe someone on here could help him. I would love to help him myself but I use the xsata one.

Here is his post from another site:

I've installed the transfer management software without any problems but Windows insists that the lone driver that's on the CD isn't the correct driver for the USB cable that connects Xbox 360 memory cards to the PC, which isn't very useful to say the least. I've checked Datel's website but there doesn't appear to be any other driver downloads, only an alternate management tool.
I'm still not having any luck with this one. If possible, would someone be so kind as to send along the driver files for their transfer kit? My PC still refuses to install the drivers for the transfer cable

MS hates these since they are the key to duplicating profiles and swapping achievements and saves. These were used to mess up forza 2 and is why people have achievements for halo 3 that say they got them in january of 1768 or whatever.

It wouldn't shock me at all to see MS knocking this down. They'll be all over ebay, unless MS shuts that down too. Sony does this with the HDD software you can buy online to put games on a HDD.

All this over stupid achievements..I'd rather be able to swap saves freely than have them

Wasn't just achievments. They were able to somehow transfer arcade games as well.

Well, if anyone cares, Datel has an eBay store that sells the transfer kit. I bought one and it arrived three days after the auction ended.

They probably thought having a transfer kit would stop people from purchasing their large expensive harddrive.
