they seem to be inconsistent with that. Maybe they give new ones to people that are on record as having many die, but this is my 3rd dead 360, but first sent in to MS. I'll probably get a refurbished 360 from 2005.

okay, so I've been scouting ebay to see what these go for, and the premiums struggle to get over $200, even with extra controllers and a game or two. That's almost not worth the effort, as it's less than what the core/arcade costs. You can't even pocket some profit by having higher shipping, because you'll have to use bubble wrap and better shipping due to it being a heavy package.

what's the best route to dump one of these for a decent price?

I'm so glad I bought the product replacement plan from best buy. Now that I'm on my 4th or 5th 360 (that's right.. i've lost count) I'll definitely be trading it in for a ps3 before the warranty expires later this year.

So, my 360 went out, but now the three rings of death. I have a few questions....

MS will only send me a box if it's the three rings of death, correct?

If so, will they send me a box if I get the three rings of death even though it's a launch system and I have no warranty?

Any idea how to get the three rings of death. You think if i just leave it running or do the trick where you wrap it in a towel will work?

I shouldn't have to pay for them to fix my 360, so anyway I can get my fixed for free sounds good.
