The 40 VS the 80 have difference but just none as drastic as not having a HDD as with the Xbox. The 360 never discontinued a console either. The core just became the arcade.

It might not confuse people like me and you but it will confuse others. I'm sure there will be two SKU on the market. If they cancel the 80 I think they will come out with a huge HDD. Around the 200gb range I'm thinking.

Well that hasn't been confirmed yet. Just rumors.

Along with a white PS3 is suppose to be released in the US along with a maybe a price drop.

Nothing confirmed yet though.

I don't really care for a white one but that $299 price tag is about what i've been waiting on.

I don't really see myyself wooing over old PS2 games either but it would be nice to have BC if I wanted it.

I got the 40 GB one...I won't play many PS2 games...I don't play old Xbox games now either...sure, I'd like the added benefit, but not for 100 bucks.

And for that $100 left over you can buy a much bigger HDD for less then that actually. If need be that is.

The more I think about it the more you make sense to me about 40gb version.

I only kept my xbox to play Inside Drive and Mercenaries mostly but with all of the 360 games I didn't touch it, plus its now BC so my xbox is a sentimental piece of equipment not being used.

I'd trade it in if it was worth enough but its not so ah well.
