Don't know if this is will be a good thing or bad thing for Sony but it's interesting to see him go with all that Sony had going this year.

The man knows what he is doing, his comments about sony were part of a calculated action. He either got pushed out because of his comments, or made them because he already knew he was on his way out.

He went from being the guy that said rumble was a last gen feature, and that the numerous 360 models confuses consumers, to slamming Sony's Japanese bosses. There's something different there.

Analysts are reporting the impact won't be much or anything.

Sony made a statement today regarding Phil's departure and Home.
Quote:
"[It's] business as usual for Home. The projects that Phil has been working on including Home are still on track and are still sticking to their current schedules," a SCEA spokesperson said. "Each title and project is supported by a wide variety of people behind the scenes to ensure the highest quality and execution."

Yeah, but we can never really know what went on. You can't know he was fired. Like I said, many people get tired of working at a company after so many years. He may have reached that point and said f it and quit. Who knows?

Either way Sony will survive, Phil will survive as will Donna Summer.

Re: Phil Harrison steps down at Sony!

How many execs does it take to fill in for Phil Harrison?

Spoiler

Quote:
With Phil Harrison heading out of the door this week, Sony Computer Entertainment America is reshuffling its executive ranks.

Robert Dyer will take up the post of senior vice president of publisher relations. Dyer comes from the Crave Entertainment Group, where he worked as president and chief operating officer since 2004. Previous to this role, he also worked for both Eidos Interactive and Crystal Dynamics.

Ian Jackson will become vice president of sales, comes from his position as managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Canada, and also worked in sales at EA, Panasonic, and Microsoft. Sally Buchanan--who currently works for SCEA--will become vice president of human resources.
The three will step into their new roles between March and April, and will report directly to SCEA president Jack Tretton.
