Just bought a PS2 for nostalgia sake, a few questions

I just bought a thin PS2 b\c of all these SNK collections coming out....few questinos...

First ones probably really dumb...
is that red light supposed to stay on the whole time when the ps2 is plugged in, just want to make sure im not burning it out.

Second, I got the Gamestop Predator S Type Controller.....wireless...and cant get the analog to work...is this just a crap controller or am I doing something wrong?

thanks in advance

1. It's been a while since I've had a PS2, but the red light is ok. You can cut off the power all-together with the switch in the back. I've known people that flip the switch in the back everytime they turned it off, I never did. I don't think it will affect the lifetime of your ps2 if you leave the red light on.

2. Never had one of those controllers, the Logitech wireless controlers were pretty bad ace back in the day, not sure they still make them.

The red light is standby;it's fine for it to be on all the time.
Don't know about the GS POS controller, but I can highly recommend the Logitech Cordless Action controller, which can be found at Wal-Mart,Best Buy,etc. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....ci_sku=6641208
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2679376

It is my favorite console controller.

I've never had a PS2 but I think you had to press a button near the start button to get the analog to work. There should be a small red light when the analog is on, I think.

I think the PS3 has a standby mode too, which would be that red light.

There is a button above the Select button and the Dpad;push it and a little red light comes on on the controller. That means analog is active.
