Will the next xbox launch in Nov 2009?

I think so.

xbox - Nov 2001
xbox 360 - Nov 2005

Nov 2009 is time for the next generation of xbox. They need a new machine to shed the bad reputation of 360 hardware failures.

Release a reliable next xbox with:

Massive internal HD, at least 500GB
Internal Blu-ray drive.
Built in wireless
100% backwards compatibility with 360 games.
Newer, faster, graphics/CPU.
Runs cooler and quieter
Internet TV

Put that up against the PS3, which will be in year 3 of its supposed 10 year cycle.

If anything they will released that rumored slim version of the 360, because I think that we would have heard more about the new system to come already, although I am not sure

And no one will buy it. Another system already? no thanks.

Hardcore gamers will buy it. Several million bought the xbox 360 and that released only 4 years after xbox. Heck, some guys bought multiple 360's. $400 for 4 years of gaming seems reasonable.

It is everyone's (platform holders, developers, consumers) best interests to keep these current consoles around for as long as possible. Prices are already too high on these things. No need to compound the problem by releasing another system too soon.

Developers were JUST figuring out the Xbox and getting the most potential out of it, and they killed it off. They are just now figuring out the 360 and getting it in stride, and they will kill it off in a year?

Sony still supports the PS2, and will run the PS3 until 2012 at the earliest.

It's ridiculous to push out another system next year.

Re: Will the next xbox launch in Nov 2009?

I don't think anyone is saying they will. If that was the case, im sure we would hear some blurb about it, but as it stands they can't even get this system to work reliably, let alone release a new system.

It's puzzling because it seems like they took a step backwards. The 1st xbox had more than enough memory and worked just fine, heck i still have mine, but the 360 seems like they decided it wasn't worth it to push quality over quantity.

That's another point. If it's coming out in 18 months, you would think we'd hear leaks from developers working on titles for it. I mean, what would be the "big get" launch title for the system if it comes out in 18 months? We know MS is going to push Gears 2 this fall as well as Banjo Kazooie. Those 2 titles would have been better suited for the XBox 3 wouldn't they? I mean, waiting a year for Gears 2 would have sucked, but if MS is planning a new system this soon, I fully believe it would be a launch title.

I declare this rumor false.
